Cethosia Biblis is the Latin name for the Red Lacewing with reflects the patterning on the underside of the wings, which can look like writing in a book. This poisonous butterfly has a background color of rich ruddy brown below, with a delicate pattern of white and black lines. From above males and females are different the males are brighter, with an orange-red background color, broad brown borders on the outer wing-edges, and white V-shaped marking along the margins. the female are either much more brown above, or an olive green color with similar white markings. Both sexes have scalloped wings.
